Catriona Collins

Director / Principal Speech Pathologist

BAppSc (Speech Pathology)

Originally from the Upper Hunter, Catriona began private practice in 1999 and since then has worked in various private and government settings in Australia and New Zealand. These include Autism Spectrum Australia, The Department of Ageing Disability and Home Care (DADHC), The Ministry of Education – Special Education and Abano Rehabilitation.

After moving back to Australia and settling in Maitland in 2011, she decided to bring The Communication Clinic with her. Since then, the practice has grown to include a second clinic in Singleton and a staff of 10. In that time, Catriona has also presented at several conferences and workshops across Australia.

A certified Hanen instructor, Catriona is trained in a wide variety of programs for speech, eating and drinking, literacy, language, social communication and AAC. She is dedicated to delivering quality services to the Hunter and surrounding areas, with a special interest in supporting people with complex communication needs to have their voices heard.

When she’s not at The Communication Clinic, Catriona enjoys gardening, renovating and spending time with family and friends, especially if it involves caravanning, fishing or getting to places where she can’t be reached on her phone!
