Merrin
Bachelor Speech Pathology
Originally from Singleton, Merrin began working at The Communication Clinic as a student in 2012, supporting our group programs. After graduating from the University of Newcastle in 2013, she was too good to let go so she worked with us part-time while also working with a not for profit organisation. Merrin is passionate about the work we do and gives her all to everyone she works with. Merrin now heads up our Singleton clinic and is a familiar face around her hometown.
Merrin has extensive training in a variety of areas and is a Hanen, SAS, and PEERS trained instructor. Merrin has extended her study via the University of Sydney completing an “Interpersonal Psychotherapy Course – Level A” and is also certified to train our team in MAPA (Management of Actual or Potential Aggression). She has completed training in paediatric feeding, food fussiness, and speech/articulation programs, social communication, AAC, stuttering, language and literacy. Merrin also represented The Communication Clinic, presenting a joint paper at the 2019 AGOSCI conference.
In her free time, Merrin looks forward to catching up with friends and family which often involves camping, movies, board games and good food (she’s a keen cook). Merrin also loves to sing and enjoys performing in community theatre productions.
